Sequencer not running, voice edit mode only

I have just assembled my new LXR. It boots into voice mode ok, but I cannot start the sequencer or change into one of the other modes. Changing voice paramaters seems to work fine and I can set/remove steps on the sequencer grid. I can also load firmware (currentlyv0.24a ) from the SD card.

I have checked the usual suspects (buttons, soldering, resistor networks, ICs, ...) and at least for my untrained eye everything seems to be ok. Do you have any idea which parts might be responsible for the problem, so that I can inspect more closely?

    maybe you tempo is not set?
    shift + load/save brings you to the menu. make sure BPM is not set to 0/ext

    besides that check the soldering for the start stop button.
    it is connected to U10 (74hc165) and RR10 (10k network)

    After resoldering the U10 socket the sequencer is running and performance/step/load|save modes are working. Thanks a lot for your quick help!
