Maybe the screen should give an insight about what you're doing, but I don't really know how you can achieve that. From what I understand, you select the part (kick / snare / toms etc) using the rightmost vertical switches, and you have some patches on the black switches horizontal row. Maybe looking at the leds is confusing when on stage and on a hurry, or when you use the machine for the first time, and some text display can be helpful. I will figure out when trying the beast
I'm a total noob when it comes to video editing. :-/ Thanks to loderbast we have this small video demo.
I have no idea how one could realize a tutorial mode on the hardware. One could display the mode/operation name in the display when changing modes... but i have the feeling that it is more annoying than helpful. My xoxbox is harder to operate than this machine I think.
My first customer who picked up the kit last week in person told me he thinks the user interface is easy to understand.
I could add some overlay texts that name the features that are shown. Maybe you send me a list of what to put in. Like 00:30 : "micro step editing" ... : "morph fonction" Etc
that looks amazing & to be honest sounds even better than I hoped - the FM sounds like pure metal machine music in a box & the video really shows just how cool this is going to be. Volca schmolca - they look like fun but this looks seriously open-ended....
Of course that won't stop me getting straight in there & making some full-on & poorly crafted techno loops with all those lovely noises, downtempo & "other music" can wait...
You've really excelled yourself Julian, hope you get the credit you deserve
yes indeed. my stats shows very little people coming directly from matrixsynth to my site, but the video spawned a lot of threads in other forums. page views have been around 500 people daily since the matrixsynth post. around 60/day before
I saw that some of the attention is coming from Audiofanzine which is a French Music Gear Community-based website... deutsch-französische Freundschaft FTW ! <):)
@dubtoms: i think the 303ish sound you mean is from the bassstation rack (that is not in the picture.) it is sequenced by the gorf (the little thing on top of the LXR)

Given the features it offers the learning curve is really fast
Hope you'll get some exposure from that
@nightworxx: you don't have to excuse yourself! I totaly understand.
