Are all SD cards compatible?

Following on from my other thread, im wondering what other people have found with regard to different types / capacities of SD card, and their suitability for this project?

I bought a Samsung 8GB micro SD kit with adapter to SD, that didn't work.
Tried with an SanDisk micro SD from an old broken mobile phone instead and that works.
I thought it was the adapter but it were the Samsung card...

It's in Swedish....

If i format the SD card / copy the files in different ways, i get different results (when i try to update the firmware).

None of them give a working machine : ( but there are differences with different methods of preparing the card.

This makes me suspect my card now...

This card is definitely NOT compatible:
Transcend SDHC 16GB

I replaced it with this on:
Sandisk SD 2GB

which works.

Sandisk SD HC 4GB works! And it comes FAT32 formatted.
