On Off power switch

Hi
I have this power switch of an old computer , can i use this for power switch.
I was thinking to take the bridge i have made in step 4 out .And solder the switch with wires .
There are 2 pins in and 2 out on it , but i have notice its just negatve and positeve that go true the switch .
Can i use just 1 in and 1 out ?
Is this postille or just a good idea?

  • Hi,

I'm no tekki but for shure you can use this switch. BUT I wouldt suggest to use a more simple one that will fit into a 8mm hole, because it is a pain to make that switch fitting on the back of the case.

    Kind regards,

  • I wanted to solder wires to the switch so i have a wide range for a position off the switch in the case .
  • that's what the bridge is for.
I think xoxer is refering to the needed cutout shape.
it's always more easy to drill a hole than to use a fretsaw to make rectangular cutouts.
    otherwise the switch is fine.
  • Ok thanks ! I first gonna finisch him and test if everything works , so i shall take a look for some easy switch for cutouts .
  • Switch installed , and some first scratches , it was hell cutting it out but it works perfect
  • Looks like you havent removed the protective foil from the inside of the plexi?
