step 14 also triggers step 15 & vice versa [SOLVED]

In VOICE EDIT MODE, both step 14 and 15 are activated if only one of the corresponding step buttons (14 or 15) is pressed. Also, both steps are deactivated, if only one of these step buttons (14 or 15) is pressed again.

I guess I produced a short-circuit somewhere - probably at the IC which is connected to these buttons. Any idea where to look first?

Besides, the LXR feels and sounds great.

    have a look at the schematic

    step 14 and 15 are connected to U5 (pin 13  and 12) and the RR6 resistor network. Nothing else involved.

    check for a short between pin 12 an 13 of U4 (which is the 165 shift register those buttons are connected to according to the schematic)

    Problem solved - thank you guys!

    There was a short-circuit at the resistor network RR6.
