Hi folks,
finally got my built smoothly to the point after chip insertion. All seems set, voltage right, but when i fire up this baby then all leds light up and then only the red led of step 9 remains lit and that's it.
Any suggestions ?
And damned, i should have started this post in troubleshooting - ashes on my head -.-

Thanks Frank,
Good to know not to be left alone in the realm of total embarassment ! ;-)
By the way, how flat on the PCB has the OLED to be ? I couldn't get it managed closer than 2 mm above the PCB. Will this be a problem for the case ?
the highest part of the oled should not exceed 10mm.
the lower end of the oled pcb is about 2-3mm abive the frontpanel pcb on my unit here.
Yup, OLED is next...and then tape for the tactile switches.
Fuck, shit, kill, destroy ! This baby is pure fun !
What a complement for Xbase, 505 and MPC...this is a rocking bitch. Great job, Julian.
This is by far the best you can get for this money.
Glad you like it!
OK, next issue (not a real one):
maybe i am too dumb, but in the manual is written that the Midi channel assignment is done in the global settings. I found really everything but not where to assign the midi channel. Can anyone help me out ?
With the recent addition of the note out midi mode, the midi channel can be set per voice on the 2nd page of each voices mixer page
Ahh, now i found it...thx alot !
But when i play a note, i can't hear anything, is there something to know, like switching from trigger to note ?OK, shouldn't have had so much beer yesterday, everything works fine so far.
I guess now it's time for RTFM and some serious gain matching. Damn again: i need more channels. I guess the time will come, when i am forced to switch to MADI.
When powered up I have the Voice 1-7, the Voice/Perf/Step/Load and the Start/Rec/Shift/copy groups that are lit.
I double-checked for IC places and orientations but nothing came up..
voice 1-7 and the copy LED are on U13 wich comes just before U11 in the 595er chain.
All other LEDs are working?
Check that
U13 - Pin 14 is connected to U9 - pin 9. This is the serial data line for those shift registers
Also:
U13 - pin 11 and U9 pin 11 (shift)
U13 - pin 12 and U9 pin 12 (load)
should be connected.
Also check for shorts on those pins.
also check the resistor network orientations.
I figured out myself but thanks anyway !!
