store morphkit within drumkit? (and other stuff)

would be nice, if this was possible

for more predicted and faster jamming

also, would it be possible to recall last used drumkit after restart?

what I would also like to be able to store in a drumkit was CC7 for overall volume, as the loudness of different drumkits may vary quite a lot

then, of course I can't wait to use program change ;-) but I can wait for that:-D as well as midi "local off". hope this can be implied

BTW: what about a "note" CC for each instrument (or is it already there?) for me, this would be a very important CC

another idea according the "repeat division" poti was to start the existing devision/multiplication amounts at twelve o'clock and have the same values but offbeat, from 12 o'clock CCW.

e.g.: 1/8 normal: step: 1,3,5,7,9....

1/8 offbeat: 2,4,6,8,10,12,....

or use e.g. step button 16 to switch to offbeat? ...perhaps too far away for proper jamming (left hand on poti, right hand pushing butten 1-7) hmmmm....

...you would record patterns on the fly just by using the devision poti, change between normal and offbeat, pressing step button 1-7.

If you now still had a poti for "note" and velocity, you could create complete patterns on the fly.

I do this with my flame echometer as well, and it's really the fastest way to create drum patterns. you wouldn't program this by xoxox.

in the meantime, I'm having lots of fun with the fresh sounds coming from the LXR

  • +1 for Morphkit stored as part of kit but then I suppose you then have to deal with missing kits elegantly? so if A is linked to B what happens if B is deleted...

  • yeah, that's true, but if you leave it as it is, it would tend to the same random as I always don't know, which morph kit was once selected... :-D
most elegant was of course not just to link it, but to save the whole morphkit into the drumkit. this would mean double data, but I don't know, if it would even matter because everything gets written from SD card?
  • What should happen when you have morphed completely to kit B and want to load a different kit A?
  • My plan for a future update is to include some sort of multi preset that stores a pattern, tempo, shuffle and all the sounds together. So you can select if you want to load a kit, a pattern, or a set including all. this would also allow to first load a set, then load a different morph or base kit.
  • a: kit A gets loaded but with 100% morph

or b: kit A gets loaded and morph gets reset to zero

  • nice, Julian!
  • +1 for saving total machine snapshots - maybe even with journaling like on the ambika? theres plenty of space on a 16gb card ;-)
  • and the ability to automatically restore after restart?

(got used to this so much from the cirklon)

    Very nice plan, Julian! :)

(I count at least 3 cirklonists in this thread.)
