You can also roughly solder down one leg on each led to hold them in place, then melt that solder as you press each led tightly into place with your finger. It'll pop right into place... Then solder in the other leg.
Re powering down: You could …
It's totally possible now - You can assign voices to different outs... It doesn't have to be stereo. Check the button 8 menu in voice mode ("out" and "pan" setting)
They are supposed to be velocity sensitive as-is. The MIDI Switcher board is supposed to vary the duty cycle on the solenoids to achieve different velocities. It didn't seem to be doing that properly on my tests with the LXR though, but I didn't s…
It's been a while since I built mine... But I think the solder pads for the LCD connector are on the top of the board anyway, so soldering them from the bottom might not work all that well.
Soldering on the MIDI ports first makes sure that the LCD …
It's not a bad idea to put a layer of electrical tape on the board below your lcd - I've had lcd feet short out connections on some devices (not on the LXR though). Definitely trim all the connections on the top of the board below the LCD as short …
I like the way the PreenFM2 mounts its LCD - it's great that they can be removed easily, and also it angles the LCD toward the user, so it's easier to see while you're using it. I've started mounting most of my LCDs that way, but I generally don't …
Cool... Will have to give that a try sometime.
Out of curiosity (...and totally hypothetically, I'm not asking you to implement this), is there enough ram/cpu cycles/whatever to have a few sequencer tracks running in addition to the drum voices (ie…
I agree the CC should be limited to one channel, because other devices might also need to be sending CCs around that the LXR shouldn't listen to.
Does this record-midi-notes change mean that if you've got voice 3 set to midi channel 3, and V3 midi n…
Stuff like this tends to happen when someone decides to make it happen - I'd say if this is something you want to see done, start doing it and you'll probably find people will help you. Sounds like you're pretty well qualified to do this if you wan…
There could be a global chain on/off option in the chaining menu for every pattern - Rpt, Nxt, Chn (yes/no).
Although you did mention you were planning on changing to a more simple chaining system eventually. If the chaining menu is going to change…
USB is not connected. All of my 9v equipment is powered off one 4amp 9v power adapter with a splitter, everything is plugged into the same power bar.
I'll check the soldering on the caps djversus mentioned - if other lxrs have a low noise floor, I …
Thanks - I'll check those caps. I wasn't so much concerned that there was anything wrong with my LXR in particular, was more thinking that the LXR might just have a relatively loud noise floor by design, and wondered if anyone had any ideas as to h…
I got four of these 12v solenoids: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321059206727?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
It came with one 24v solenoid.
The 24v one seems to be better than the 12v ones, but they're all fine really. It's runnin…
Have you looked at the MIDI section of the user manual? Chapter 7. I'm not sure if the MIDI note is mapped to a CC, but you can change oscillator tuning with CCs.
The only solution I could think of would be to add a digital power switch to the OLED that is controlled by the AVR, but that would mean a hardware change.
No need for a solution really - rebooting seems to solve the problem just fine...
Would it be possible to add configurable midi CC sends to each note in the LXR? There's an upcoming piece of MIDI looping hardware (MIDIrex - http://midisizer.com/midirex/) that looks pretty interesting - it'll record and store MIDI loops that you …
...Weird. I guess the upside-down thing just happened on the first boot after installing the new unofficial firmware. I just rebooted and it's back to normal.
Hey, Rudeog - is it just me, or is the menu structure in your latest firmware upside down? ...like, the parameter name appears on the bottom of the screen and the value is on top? Unless my memory is more fucked than I would have thought... It wa…
I agree that time would be better spent on development than on the manual. There's nothing stopping you or someone else from maintaining a list of new features, or updating the manual yourself though.
Cool... Was just playing with mine today, running it through the filters on a shruthi... If you have one of those, try that, really sounds cool. Either added on to a shruthi synth sound, or on one of the passthrough patch settings (125-128).
