I guess that with a nice, bright day you could burn with a magnifier. I would use some type of reflective stencil (aluminum foil could work, or some metalized vinyl foil) to keep the letters edges nice.
Another way is to have some laser etching, whi…
Haha way over what I imagined!
Maybe no ants on an LXR is better, but if you do burn the wood let us know! It looks so pristine I would have trembling hands being afraid to screw it up!
husker: I agree the layout of the LXR is quite intuitive! If you ever burn the logo there with a magnifying glass that would be amazing and you better share a photo of it!
I have had this image of a CNC sun engraver that moves with the sun! I Imagin…
@erwanone: no need for so much aggressiveness rector here just expressed an opinion making it clear he had the best intentions, and did not point to any current feature of the LXR he thought was useless or superfluous.
He just voiced concern about …
@Julian, fcd72, jojjelito et al: Thanks for the support guys! You can´t imagine how many times lately I have been practicing different ideas around these new regulations.
I do not think this state of things will persist much though. The sheer force …
Hey Julian, you don´t know the half of it. I really appreciate your efforts.
We are only allowed 2 imports per year (no matter the size) and then, we only have a total per annum value of $25 dollars for them! After this value has been exceeded, we h…
Ok, thanks Julian didn´t mean to make you wade through the endless email marsh.
It is just that for me parts sourcing is almost impossible right now, between the big shipping costs to get stuff here and the new import restrictions we got last couple…
I will have a look at it, but since I have my LXR in it´s plexi case, I will need a potent light.
Is it possible to have a socket soldered to the main board so as to have everything plugged and not soldered or is the space too tight?
Once this is re…
I don´t think us Batch 1/Pioneer run owners need the instructions as you did on those very nice trigger out instructions, but maybe we could have a thread that clearly states what we have to modify/do to get this add-on working?
I am quite happy with my Batch 1 LXR in it´s original case. I am just thinking this might be cool for future LXR batches as an upgrade to eliminate the button cap problem.
There is a metal case on the way from Adrian (the one making them for the MI Shruthis and Ambikas).
I think he said he uses 1mm sheet metal, so that would leave about 3.4mm .
But, the buttons are domed, so I don´t know if the 4.4mm you give is the m…
Maybe if the future LXR batches change switches they could have this caps?
I did not mesure the Groovesizer`s switches against the LXR/MI switches, but they did not seem too far off in size upon first sight.
Incidentally, there are some nice round buttons used on the Groovesizer music multi board I recently assembled.
They snap tightly to the switches and remain there. They also have a lower lip that prevents them from falling.
They are (I think) bigger…
Well I found out about MI synths while perusing the opeewon forums (I´m a registered member with 0 postings!).
While at MI forums I found out about the LXR, so that would also count!
Is it possible for anybody to post the newest custom built firmware as it should be placed on the SD card?
It would be great for those of us a bit behind on the firmware development front.
I tend to like on-off switches.
When in a studio setup, sometimes it is hard to reach to unplug, and many times, the lead falls down and you have to fish it while on the floor...with an on off switch, you just leave everything neatly plugged and fli…
