Yes, I bought and cut aluminium in a little factory near my home. Nearly 20€ (cut and bought alu)...it's not expensive and the work is clean! But all drilling by me.
  • And a video with my LXR. All sounds come to LXR!!! Just some FX and filter with octatrack. I love this drum machine, many potential!!

Oh I meant the drilling, i ask because it l looks very clean, and I have to make a bunch of panels for some things including my lxr.

Any tips for how to get it as accurate as possible?

I'm using a drill press, and in my test I was finding it hard to align the drill bit with my markings (I printed out a drilling guide, glued it to the panel, and used a punch to make a dimple in the center of each hole.)

    Also did you use oil?
  • I use the same tip. I use a drill with a support and i printed out a drilling guide. It's not perfect but with adjustements it's ok.
Oh, yes, for a clean drilling, use this tool:

  • thanks for the info. I'm using a uni bit which I think does the same.

Also do you use oil or lubricant? I was having trouble because it get the paper wet then starts to unstick.

  • No it's not the same tool. You must used a tool to cut chamfer for a clean drilling.

    No oil for aluminium.

NO I mean, I use this for sheet metal. It's a popular choice for this kind of thing. Not that its the same tool but accomplishes the same result because the way it cuts is similar to what you posted. It does do a chamfer just by setting the depth correctly.

thanks on the oil part, and all your tips.

  • looks very nice indeed :D
